The Brand Story
History of ASHOKA
From 273 BCE to 232 BCE, the legendary Indian king Ashoka Maurya led his subjects with passion, love and respect into peace and prosperity. In praise of the benevolent ruler's vast achievements, a stunning 41.37 carat, perfect D-colour diamond mined and cut in the Golconda region of Southern India was named Ashoka. This specially-cut masterpiece resembles an elongated cushion cut with softly rounded corners, capturing and dispersing the light for an exceptional brilliance.
A Special Vessel of Love Unveiled
Pioneering diamond dealer William Goldberg was immediately drawn to the distinctive lustre of the original Ashoka diamond. After a long and painstaking process, ASHOKA diamonds were cut and patented in 1999. The charismatic diamonds proved instantly popular among luminaries the world over. A profound message of love, joy and glory was sent forth.
